Hi I’M Harriet – Keeping Traditions Alive
Hi there! I’m Harriet, and I’m so happy you’re here. Welcome to my little corner of the internet, where I share my love for cooking and the stories behind it.
My culinary journey began in a cozy American town, where life moved slowly and the horizon stretched forever. Growing up as an only child, I found comfort and joy in my grandmother’s home next door—a place that always smelled of fresh herbs and baked treats.
Her garden was her pride, filled with plump tomatoes, fragrant herbs, and the juiciest strawberries I’ve ever tasted. To this day, the sweetness of those strawberries reminds me of sunshine and simplicity, inspiring me to cook with fresh, seasonal ingredients.
Grandma’s kitchen was where the magic happened. She had a gift for turning humble ingredients into unforgettable meals, and neighbors often dropped by just to taste her pies or enjoy her warm hospitality. I’d sit and watch her work, mesmerized, wishing I could cook like her someday.
By 18, I was her eager apprentice, soaking up every lesson she shared. She taught me that cooking isn’t just about feeding people—it’s about love, connection, and creating memories.
Though she’s no longer with us, I keep her spirit alive through every dish I make. This blog is my tribute to her—and to the joy of sharing good food with others.
When I’m not experimenting in the kitchen, you’ll find me with a cup of coffee, dreaming up new recipes (strawberries usually make an appearance!). I hope my creations bring as much happiness to your table as they do to mine.
Thanks for being part of this adventure—let’s cook something wonderful together!
